November 27, 2012, 3:29 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Legendary ballet ‘The Nutcracker' is coming to the London Coliseum this Christmas. The festive classic is to be performed by the English National Ballet nightly from December 12th until January 5th 2013.
Based on E.T.A. Hoffman's 1816 story, the tale recounts a young girl's magical adventure after her favourite toy comes to life on Christmas Eve and she is whisked away to a land of living dolls. It became the world's most famous ballet in 1892 after choreographers Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa set movement to Tchaikovsky's instantly-recognisable score.
The latest production features updated choreography from Wayne Eagling. The show promises to be one of the major spectacles of this year's London Christmas. Tickets for ‘The Nutcracker' at the Coliseum cost between £8 and £60.
Website LondonTown.com, the capital's premier events and booking site, carries more details and ticket purchasing. The site is also offering reduced rates on a number of hotels close to the Coliseum. All discounts are available exclusively through LondonTown.com.
