From October 31st , Seduced by Art: Photography Past and Present will be in the West End, taking an inquisitive look at the strong links between several modern photographers and 19 th century art.
And LondonTown.com, the number on London website, has got hold of some exceptional hotel deals and discounts for visitors looking to complete their weekend with a stay in one of several London hotels.
With big contemporary names like Sam Taylor-Wood and CraigieHorsfield exhibiting alongside some of the gallery's most famous pieces in the collection – from Turner to Degas. The exhibition looks at how the still, captured image, one of the twentieth century's defining art forms, has evolved its style in relation to the artistic influence of 18th and 19th century paintings.
As well as thematic pairings, bringing landscape photography into relief with lush painted landscapes from the National Gallery collection, there will also be – for the first time - three ‘interventions' of contemporary photographs by Richard Billingham, CraigieHorsfield and Richard Learoyd. These will be displayed within the Gallery's collection, juxtaposed with 19th-century paintings by Constable, Degas and Ingres.
