2nd Annual Urban IMPACT Summit to be held again in Southern Connecticut
at the world famed Foxwoods Resort and Casino from Sunday, June
25, 2006 through Tuesday, June 27, 2006. The Urban IMPACT Summit
will offer Connecticut residents and statewide visitors the opportunity
to participate in music, entrepreneurial, cultural, spiritual and
educational workshops, panel discussions, concerts and a host of
other events relative to hip-hop and Gospel
history and culture.
Based on a conversation between Dr. Jones and Attorney Walker the
Urban IMPACT Summit is poised to offer many exciting new opportunities
to celebrate two powerful art forms that has influenced generations
and reached the farthest corners of the world. For the many years,
both hip hop and Gospel music have been honored for their originality
through various forums including awards shows, conferences, concerts
and now a youth

Purposed specifically to bridge the worlds of hip-hop and Gospel
music, Jones and Walker believe that there are some very serious
and important aspects of the Urban and Gospel culture that have
not been addressed but with the Summit standing firm against the
backdrop of a battle cry that says that we must Embrace, Educate
and Empower this culture, some of those aspects will be addressed.

positive social messages today in conjunction with gospel
music. James and I believe that hip hop is an enormously influential
agent for social change and must be responsibly and proactively
utilized to fight the war on poverty and injustice,\" said Dr. Bobby
Jones. Dr. Jones, whose show Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel has been the
top rated show on (BET) Black Entertainment Television for 25 years
and is seen worldwide, is scheduled to tape his Word Network TV
show “Bobby Jones Presents,” at the summit. “Foxwoods Resort and
Casino is proud to host the Urban IMPACT Summit for the second year,
which will celebrate the revolutionary impact and influence of hip
hop and Gospel music on Connecticut and surrounding states,” said
