Press Release Body = Lexington, MA, April 14, 2006 – AccuRev Inc.
and Catalyst Systems today announced an online Webinar with keynote
presentation by Uttam Narsu, former Giga/Forrester analyst and Application
Lifecycle Management (ALM) expert.
Uttam Narsu will kick-off AccuRev’s Spring Thought-Leadership Series
on Software Development by explaining how to leverage best practices
to address difficulties in development processes around build and
release management.
Narsu said: “Most companies gaze longingly through a doorway, one
leading to the promised land of build and release automation. They
tremble, knowing that crossing that threshold is possible only when
an organization — its culture, processes, and technology — is ready
to accept the changes demanded by best practices.”
Narsu describes a seven-step process to implementing a scaleable
best practices framework, and discusses such practices as: SCM planning,
appropriate baselines, private workspaces, merge
and integrate often, and absolute reproducibility of development
artifacts.
Further presentations from Jim Graham and Brad Hart will show attendees
how to reduce complex merges from days to minutes and create completely
reusable
and repeatable builds, while reducing ad hoc build processes.
Graham, a Sr. Developer with Catalyst Systems Corporation, will
demonstrate how Openmake combines its leading Build Workflow technology
with ALM process management to achieve reuse and consistency from
build to release.
Hart, AccuRev’s Vice President of Technology, will highlight the
unique ability of AccuRev to easily support
complex branching and merging.
